Nova swimmers compete at Scottish National Open Championships

The Scottish National Championships (50m) showcase the best of Scottish Swimming with current stars and future champions at Aberdeen Sports Village, because of this NOVA Centurion targeted this meet in preparation for the British Summer Championships and the Swim England ASA Summer meet events which are going to be held at Sheffield Ponds Forge at the end of July beginning of August.

Aberdeen Sports Village is a fantastic venue offering a 10 lane x 50 meter and a Separate 6 lane x 25m warm-up and swim-down facility

The team of NOVA swimmers travelled from Birmingham airport to the event on Wednesday 28th in preparation for the event.

9 squad members attended the meet, 7 A1 swimmers and 2 A2 swimmers. The 9 Nottingham A1 & A2 Squad members were targeting 42 events over the 4 days. 28.6% of which were converted into new PB’s and an additional 5% achieved seasonal bests in the events. They achieved 14 finals or HDW positions including 2 silver and 3 bronze.

This meet was a success for the squads based on their current training program and shows how competitive our swimmers are at this point of the season and how competitive our squads will be at the upcoming British Summer Championships and Swim England ASA Summer competitions.
